Here are some tips to help you drive safely on our roads.
Do:
Plan your route in advance to avoid stress – check for congestion and adjust your journey time accordingly.
Drive to the road conditions – driving at the speed limit may not always be safe.
Take care at junctions - be patient and wait for an appropriate gap in traffic.
Keep your distance from other vehicles.
Be patient when overtaking.
Wear your seatbelt and make sure that passengers do too - except for babies and young children who should be fastened in a properly fitted car seat appropriate for their age group and build.
Don't:
Drink and drive.
Use a hand held mobile phone while driving.
Overtake on solid white lines.
Drive when you are tired.
