Crash rescue drama comes to Derby

14 December 2010

Two crash rescue dramas will be staged by road safety partnership members this month.

The simulated rescues will show how firefighters, police and paramedics work together to save injured people who are trapped in a car.
The crash dramas will take place on Derby Marketplace on Friday 17 December and Thursday 23 December. On both days, the dramas will begin at 2.30pm.

Both events are being co-ordinated by watch manager Chris Navin from Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service.

Chris, who is currently based within Derby’s South Area Community Safety team, said: “We’re hoping to make shoppers think about their safety when travelling - especially at this time of year when the police will be paying special attention to the problem of drink driving.

“We hope people will take our messages on board and have a happy and safe Christmas and New Year.”
